How to Use Facebook for Business Marketing

Hey, it’s Mike here. I’m one of the co-founders of the New Media Europe conference. You can find it at newmediaeurope.com. This is my view this morning.

This morning I’m sitting here at the Beach Shack having a cup of coffee, masterminding with my partner and wife, Izabela.

Hello.

Tell us what you do, Izabela?

I’m one of the co-founders of New Media Europe conference, happening in Europe 2016.

In London. London.

We’re thinking about how to move the needle and we’ve got our little one there was well, joining in with the mastermind. This is how it works when you got a family thing going on.

You mentioned something about our personal Facebook profiles.

Between the two of us, we have three thousand nine hundred friends. There has to be something we could do there, all right?

I get, I get you. You’re right. What you’re saying is, we have all of those people who follow us, interested in what we do, yet we’re not telling them anything about New Media Europe.

Exactly.

What do you suggest?

Well, don’t get too excited. Out of those three thousand nine hundred, six hundred are mutual friends, so I guess it’s three thousand three hundred people.

Personal Facebook profiles, I mean like, what are we going to do?

We’re going to post a lot. We’re going to tell people what we do and why.

Aren’t we going to spam our audience?

We’re going to get our team to come up with some very good messages that are not spammy, but are content driven.

Yeah, that’s what our little boy thinks. We’ve got personal Facebook profiles, but we’ve also got pages, right?

That’s right. We’ve got pages and-

We could use Buffer to Buffer some updates.

Can you, well this might be a very lame question, but can you actually Buffer stuff to your Facebook account?

Yes, you can, but I think it looks lame because it actually says “Posted by Buffer”, so your friends will know. That’s why I think it’s good to keep our personal profiles updated by us, naturally, and then the pages could be Buffered. I mean what do you think?

I think that, yes, but definitely we need to increase the number of posts, and that’s something we can automate through our team.

Okay, okay, cool. We got three days, under three days now until this online conference. Am I really ready for it?

I hope you are.

That is the UK Podcasters Online Conference. If you want to register for free get ready to screenshot the next snap and I’ll give you the URL.

Mike, why do you work so hard every single day?

Because I want to see this conference become a massive success. I want to see people’s lives change by it.

What’s your why?

My why is to see the spark in people’s minds change. I used to be miserable at work, I used to hate my job, I used to go to a nine to five.

Okay, let me clear that up, it wasn’t a nine to five, it was a four till midday. Well actually, no, it was probably a four till 4pm. Because I used to work in radio and working in radio you work all hours.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love radio, I love the radio industry, but when I got to a certain stage in my career, I just felt like I was doing the work for no good reason. I felt like I was wasting my life. Then I discovered podcasting, and one of the very first podcasts I listened to was Internet Business Mastery, hosted by Jason Van Orden and Jeremy Frandsen. I would credit Jason and Jeremy as the podcasters that were instrumental in changing my life for the better, for sure. It’s a podcast I highly recommend you checkout. Screenshot the next snap for the URL.

Does that answer your question?

It does, yes. What do you hope those people will do when they attend the conference?

I hope that people will be inspired to take action to change their life for the better, and to enjoy the life they want on their own terms.

I mean look at this right now, we’re sitting at a coffee shop on the Isle of White on a beautiful beach at 10am in the morning. No one else is here, you know, that doesn’t seem right to me.

No, that’s right.

More people should have the freedom.

Here is what I see. Ten years, maybe fifteen, in definitely our lifetime, there will be no boring jobs.

Interesting.

Everything that can be will be automated, and we as humans will have the freedom to actually do what we enjoy doing the most.

Okay, so I guess this went off into a bit of a tangent as to why we do the New Media Europe conference, but I’m glad we had that conversation, Izabela. I think it was, I think it was a really handy one, and I think our boy enjoyed it too.

Okay, so the task today is to fill up our personal profile with information about the conference because really our way is to connect with other people directly and let them know about the conference. This is our best chance to do it.

Final words is?

Are we friends on Facebook? If not, we should be.
