I don’t know why it is, but every time I should be rested, every time I’m doing something during the day, I’m up first thing, 4:44 AM, and this morning I have been buying Snapchat geofilters for our Podcaster’s Pub Crawl that’s taking place on the southbank of the Thames in London tonight.
Co-Working in London with Bernie J Mitchell
I’m heading up to London Town very soon co-working with my friend Bernie J Mitchell. I don’t think he’s on Snapchat, but you should follow him on Twitter. He’s epic. That’s his Twitter address, @BernieJMitchell.
Why Real Life Events Are Great
One of my favourite things about events is the networking, people getting to know each other and connections happening, connections being made, help happening as a result, really exciting things. That’s why I always do my best to set up a Twitter list of everyone who’s attending the event, that way people can start making connections online on Twitter where we can talk to each other even if we don’t know each other before the actual event. I don’t know about you but I usually find a 160 character Twitter bio will tell you everything you need to know about someone. Well, most of what you need to know.
London Podcasters’ Pub Crawl
If you’re coming to the London Podcaster’s Pub Crawl tonight, or even if you’re not and you just want to look in, make sure to follow my Snapchat story today and tonight for updates.
Snapchat Geofilters
Okay, down to what is happening today. It’s day 15. One hundred new media tools to promote New Media Europe. Today it’s all about Snapchat geofilters. You can put just a geofilter of your own that can appear anywhere on the screen for as little as five dollars. Here’s one I’ve set up, Podcaster’s Pub Crawl. It’s going to be live across Trafalgar Square and our first bar for two hours costs me just under ten dollars.
Getting The Best Geofilter Bang for Your Buck
There will be some other surprises during the evening, and this one is really clever. You can cover pretty much the whole of the south of the River Thames for a very small fee. That very small and thin geofilter costs ten dollars for two hours, covers the Thames path between Black Friar’s Bridge and London Bridge. Not only are Snapchat geofilters a great way to get your brand name out there and increase brand awareness, but they also get high visibility and interaction.
Snapchat Geofilter Visibility
For instance this Snapchat geofilter I set up for New Media Europe, it covered just my neighbourhood. I used it six times, but it got viewed two hundred and eight-five times. Imagine what you could do if you bought a geofilter in say, Times Square, New York. You can check out geofilters for yourself at geofilters.snapchat.com, and make sure to keep in tune with my story tonight as we go on the Podcaster’s Pub Crawl.
