New Media Europe isn’t just about the great speaker line-up, workshops and speeches! We’re also offering some terrific networking opportunities for you to connect with like-minded people during scheduled breaks, parties and meet-ups.

The conference is coming up soon, so we’d like to introduce you to the interesting individuals who will be joining us in Manchester this September. Meet some of your fellow NMEU attendees…

1. What is your number one new media tool right now and why?
Facebook and soon, Periscope… as I can connect with my international audience easily and just be me 🙂

2. What is your favourite podcast and why?
Pat Flynn: His practical and authentic ways of sharing applied knowledge.

3. What is your favourite blog and why?
The Smart Passive Income Blog [Pat Flynn again!]

4. Why did you decide to attend New Media Europe 2015?
As Izabela & Mike Russell are awesome 🙂

I used to live in the USA for long time, and it was whole lot easier to attend conferences, network and learn new things. In Europe, we are slow to adopt new things, so it’s wonderful to be able to connect with like-minded people closer to home. And, of course, learning from all the awesome experts.

5. Who are you looking forward to meeting the most at #NMEU 2015?
Apart from the Russells, really looking forward to meeting Chris Ducker, as I’ve followed him for a long time.

6. Have you got a ninja tip on how to make the most out of a conference?
Be yourself, and give as much as you can!

7. If someone is intrigued by this post and would like to buy you a drink at one of our networking parties, what would that drink be?

Non-alcoholic drink: Coffee or fresh juice
Alcoholic drink: Baileys on the rocks

1. What is your number one new media tool  right now and why?
Twitter: Instant engagement. Depth. Brevity.

2. What is your favourite podcast and why?
The Fizzle Show. It’s funny, highly useful and insightful.

3. What is your favourite blog and why?
For new media… Boost Blog Traffic, which has highly engaging, useful and rich content written by many of the best blog writers in the blogosphere.

4. Why did you decide to attend New Media Europe 2015?
It’s an opportunity to meet similar minds; the opportunity to listen to what some of the most respected leaders in new media have to say about how they see new media unfolding today.

5. Who are you looking forward to meeting the most at #NMEU 2015?
I probably haven’t met them yet! Also some familiar faces and some of the inspirational folks I’ve only had a fleeting chance to meet at other #ukpod events including Phil Pallen, Colin Gray and Cliff Ravenscraft.

6. Have you got a ninja tip on how to make the most out of a conference?
Turn off the smartphone and really listen to what people have to say. Plant your feet firmly on the ground, look into their eyes and say to yourself, “I’m listening…”

I have found that this tip is particularly useful when experiencing talks and workshops too.

7. If someone is intrigued by this post and would like to buy you a drink at one of our networking parties, what would that drink be?
Triple espresso any time between 10am and 2pm (or 10pm and 2am). Cheers!

4. Why did you decide to attend New Media Europe 2015?
I want to up my game and relaunch my two podcasts. Attending NMEU 2015 will help me do that by fanning my flame. Also, I’ll get to hang out with the pros and meet people who already know that podcasting is awesome.

5. Who are you looking forward to meeting the most at #NMEU 2015?
Amy Schmittauer.

6. Have you got a ninja tip on how to make the most out of a conference?
Schedule some time right after the conference to execute on the ideas that the conference helped spark.

7. If someone is intrigued by this post and would like to buy you a drink at one of our networking parties, what would that drink be?
A beer, preferably Belgian style. Or a single malt dram.
