Top Quotes from Neal Brown:

  • “At the end of the day, if you are a podcaster and you’re not concentrating or focusing on your writing, you’re not going to be found.”
  • “It doesn’t have to be a chore; once you actually know what you’re doing, it gets easier.” [On writing for your podcast]
  • “I’m feeling really passionate about it; I’m feeling really enthusiastic. I think it’s going to be great and I really can’t wait to open up a beta testing program and get some feedback from some podcasters and see… and try and make it the best resource possible for them.” [On the course that he’s creating]
  • “I generally get most of my entertainment via podcasts nowadays. It’s just so much more flexible.”
  • “The old style way of tuning in at 8 o’clock on a Tuesday to listen to a show… that’s dying.”
  • “Technology has caught up and that means we can be a lot more flexible.”
  • “Sometimes I find that there are certain types of content which are harder to describe over an audio medium, and so being able to sit down and see the diagrams and the imagery and to actually see it step by step – it makes it a lot easier to understand.”
  • “Over the last couple of years, I’ve been to most of the UK Podcasters events; I’ve always found them to be interesting and engaging, and they really give me the confidence to carry through my ideas. I think having so many podcasters in the same room, it provides a great opportunity for sharing best practices or running your ideas past other people. It’s that kind of feedback that you can’t get when you’re just sitting in your spare room with your headphones on, over a mic.”
  • “I’ve made some great friends over the course of the last couple of years, and I’m sure that I’ll make loads more at New Media Europe.”
