How to Record a Double Ender Podcast in Adobe Audition

Podcaster’s problem: The term “double ender” refers to two pieces of audio recorded in two different locations or by multiple hosts. It could be you, the podcast host, conducting an interview with a guest or you and a co-host linking up on Skype.

1. To do this professionally you should get a professional audio interface. I recommend the following Focusrite products.

Beginner: Scarlett 2i2
Advanced: Saffire PRO 14

2. Head to the Multitrack and select Default Stereo Input with the right hand pointing arrow next to it. Change this to your mic input (Saffire Input 1) on one track and the computer/Skype audio (Saffire Loop 1) on another track.

3. Arm both tracks for recording by hitting the ‘R’ button on them and start. You will end up with two different recordings on each track. One will be you and the other will be your guest.
