Poland is the place to watch for startups with many interesting ideas coming out of the Eastern European powerhouse. Here are three top startups:

Brainly

Kraków based Brainly is the world’s largest social learning network with around €22.4 million ($24.5 million) in funding and an active set of users from all around the globe.

DocPlanner

DocPlanner covers many corners of the glove from the UK to Australia and Colombia to Spain. The Warsaw startup claims to help over 7 million users find the appropriate medical specialist in their neighbourhood.

Piwik PRO

This global Polish startp helps governments and businesses to self-host web analytics while remaining privacy compliant and 100% owning their own data. It serves names such as HP and the government of Canada. Piwik PRO has a startup base in Wroclaw – a pretty Polish city that punches above its weight in the number of startups choosing to locate here.

International Tech Companies in Poland

Google’s Campus Warsaw is located in the centre of Poland’s tech scene. The venue provides regular technology events and a base for up and coming startups to work from. Since 2015 Google has created a real boost for Polish entrepreneurs, developers and creatives due to Campus Warsaw.

Facebook has a base in Warsaw, Poland and actively recruit for team members. Job positions have included Business Development right through to Marketing Science for the CEE at Facebook Headquarters in Poland.

Technology Conferences and Events in Poland

Podcasting is on the rise across Poland with Michał Szafrański leading the way as a shining light in the space. Two Polish podcasting events have taken place in the past couple of years consequently the podcasting renaissance blooms in Poland.

Gdańsk is home to infoShare – the largest tech conference in the CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) region – with over 5000 attendees. There’s an international speaker lineup which this year is set to top 120 speakers (including our own Izabela Russell). 250 startups make their way to the Polish costal city to show off their innovations and there are fun side events including networking parties, beach running and even a boat tour of the area.
