I got to tell you, today is a bad makeup day. It’s also day 22 of 100 new media tools to promote New Media Europe. So far, a few of the things I’ve done include YouTube commenting, Pinterest Board creation, a real life meetup. Wow! If you would like to follow along with some of these stories and tips I’ve given out that you may have missed go to YouTube.
Each of these daily snap stories I’ve uploaded to YouTube after the event so you can watch them online forever. By the way, is anyone watching? I can see you’re watching but I don’t often hear from you. Snap me back if you’re enjoying this story. Time to get down to today’s new media tool. LinkedIn posts.
What is LinkedIn
LinkedIn is one of those networks I could be spending some more time on. It is for professionals after all. If you ever add me as a contact and I don’t add you back for a couple of weeks, please don’t be offended. It’s just that I’m not always there.
The Traffic Potential with LinkedIn Posts
This is the one and only post I’ve ever put on LinkedIn. It was two years ago but it had over 6000 views. It was about the state of podcasting in the UK in 2014. 6000 views. That’s around 266 views a month since I published the article. Wow. Bottom line, LinkedIn articles are getting read and more to the point they are getting read by the kind of professionals we want to attract to the new media Europe conference.
Re-purpose Content for LinkedIn
Now, I could sit here all day thinking of some epic content to put on LinkedIn but I already have epic content that could be re-purposed for LinkedIn. Last year for New Media Europe 2015, we went really heavy on writing blog posts so we’ve got a tonne of blog posts that still get traffic today. These are vegan-friendly ever green articles.
Pick Your Best Evergreen Content
Here is the top content from 2015. We’ve got speakers in there and podcast as top content. The rest of it pretty much, they are all blog posts. The task for my team and I today is to re-purpose some of the old content from last year and post it out on LinkedIn on a regular basis. I’ll start with our most popular blog from last year that still gets traffic today, seven best blogs about new media . It’s got some nice content in there so I’ll also be tweeting folk as well and I’ll be letting them know that they get a mention in the LinkedIn article that will be published today. In a matter of minutes we can go from this to this. Wow. It’s all there. Publish.
Do You Re-purpose Content?
Do you re-purpose content for social media? Snap me back and let me know if you’re watching on Snap Chat. Final thought today, 12th April, 2016 is the day Facebook release Facebook instant articles similar to LinkedIn posts. You’re going to love it.
