Just like with any other type of content, trying to get a podcast to be noticed is very difficult unless you want to spend loads of money to get the word out. Instead of doing that, a great (cheap, fast and easy) alternative is social media.

Recently, social networks have introduced the ability to share podcasts and let people listen to them directly on the social media platform. Here are a few ways to upload podcasts to the most popular social media sites available:

1. Facebook

Getting people on Facebook to engage is all about creating controversy, which allows podcasts to quickly deliver a stream of information as quickly as possible regarding any piece of information.

Sharing audio on the Facebook news feed is a sure-fire way to get your podcast out to the public ― because let’s face it, everyone uses Facebook. Make sure that you have a lot of friends and then post away and watch the traffic come rolling in.

Start by copying the link of your podcast and pasting it into the status box on Facebook. Then hit the ‘Privacy’ button that pops up to customise who you want to be able to see the link. Now you have successfully uploaded an audio podcast to Facebook. Continue to share your podcast links with friends and ask them to share with their friends.

2. Twitter

Twitter is one of the biggest social media networks but unlike Facebook, it is a little bit harder to get noticed on this platform. You can get your friends and followers interested with just a click of a button; Twitter allows users to listen to any type of audio directly on the timeline.

The coolest part about this is that if someone starts listening and is still interested in what they hear, they can dock the audio card to keep listening, while they browse through the rest of their timeline.

With Twitter sharing, a key aspect to get your posts noticed is hashtags. Make sure to add trending hashtags so that more people hear your podcasts.

3. Google+

Google is the number one search engine in the world, and it gives you the opportunity to share your own information with everyone else. Get your podcasts noticed by sharing them from SoundCloud directly to your Google+ profile.

It is very simple to do this, and users will be able to listen to your podcasts directly from Google+.

To share to Google+, go to your SoundCloud account, and then go to the podcast that you wish to share. Click the ‘Google+’ share button, the ‘Share’ button below the waveform, and then the ‘Google+’ button (in that order). This will post directly to your Google+ profile.

Now It’s Your Turn!
