UK Podcasting Meetups
One thing that is clear in the aftermath of #ukpod14 (the first UK podcasting conference this decade) great friendships were made and we want more meetups!
That’s why it is a goal for Izabela and I to see multiple podcasting meetups and mini-events happening all over the UK between now and the #ukpod15 conference in September 2015.
Podcasting Meetups in 2014
We’ve hosted some fantastic meetups in London and Berlin since March which have proven to be great on a personal and professional development level for all who attended. The first podcasting meetup was at the CitizenM London Bankside hotel back in March 2014 closely followed by another, at the same venue, with Chris Ducker as our guest of honour.
Then, in June, we had an amazing meetup and tour of Skype Headquarters in London followed by an international podcast gathering in Berlin, Germany – Ich Bin Ein Podcaster!

Now we’re calling on YOU to help. Let’s get a podcasting meetup happening in every corner of the United Kingdom before the end of 2015!
Podcast Meetups – This Is How You Can Help
It doesn’t need to be anything too fancy to start with. It can simply be a few beers at your local pub and you can grow and level up your meetup group once you have established a set of regular attendees.
What you need to do:
- Get involved! Raise your hand and say, “I’m happy to lead a free UK Podcasters meetup group in my area”.
- Let us know the details of your first meetup by entering the details at Meetup.com.
- Take care of organising the meetup yourself and take plenty of photos!
What we’ll do for you:
- Create a Facebook event for your meetup on the official UK Podcasters page and share it with the whole community.
- Add our endorsement to your meetup and share the details multiple times on the UK Podcasters Twitter and other social media accounts.
- Send an email to our subscribers with details of the meetup you’re organising and add it to the UK Podcasters events calendar.
Together we can get the whole of the UK buzzing about podcasting.
The online community and attendees of #ukpod14 are already full of enthusiasm now let’s keep that momentum going!
